No matter the season, the RGO grooves on

Last Saturday, the RGO plays at the Hilligersberg Jazz Fest in Rotterdam. The weather forecast was quite alarming, but that could not stop the quartet from treating the crowd with a hot stove of funky and soulful goodness.

Even when the rain started pouring down, the crowd kept on dancing and we ended up bringing people onto the stage, where it was warm and dry.

Thanks folks, and see you next time!

Also a shout out to Bobby Lobster; thanks for blogging about the gig!

Jazz Night Amersfoort May 7th: a great little gig

May 10, 2010: Last Friday, the RGO played a mini gig in café Vyssotski, Amersfoort (NL). Although we only had half an hour, the crowd went wild and so did we.

The Organgrinder (www.myspace.com/theorgangrinder) on the Hammond experienced an exceptionally expressive evening, as you can see in the picture.

Until the next time..  see you at SJU on May 29th (Utrecht) or at Supernatural Festival on June 26th.

Last Friday was party time in Supermarkt, The Hague

What a thrill to play in our hometown! This was a unique opportunity
for our friends and family to experience the RGO Soul Funk & Hammond
show live on stage. And, boy, did we party!!

Shout out to the staff of the venue ”Supermarkt“: Great job guys! No
kidding, it was well organised. A dressing room with Chesterfield
couch and cold drinks, a top notch sound technician and friendly bar
staff. A great place to gig!

Pics will be available soon! Stay tuned.

Giggin in Istanbul

What a blast! RGO was asked to come and play at The Ghetto, a fantastic club in Istanbul. We were booked for october 25th. The venue has an interior decoration which makes you wonder weather you’re in a super high tech club, or on a film set of Rome (the series). Ceilings that look like Michelangelo’s life work at the Vatican combined with laser beams and a super sound system.

Anyway, we had a great time. many thanks to Sahuran Batur. He writes:

High quality funk, amazing stage show and very cool attitude.. RGO is definitely an exceptional band. It is impossible not to be impressed by their energy on stage!”

 And we agree!!

The pic above is a not the RGO… It’s the New Cool Collective. They visited The Ghetto in 2008.
